Using SuperLab stimulus presentation software you can build almost any type of experiment that requires visual or auditory stimulation and record subject responses with millisecond precision. StimTracker synchronizes both stimulus and subject response experimental event markers as comments into LabChart analysis software via PowerLab. You can easily acquire other real-time physiological response in conjunction with your research for continuous data tracking and analysis.

In conjunction with our solutions shown below, any device with an analog output (+/- 10V) can be connected to a PowerLab data acquisition system for synchronization of event in LabChart. So you have even more flexibility and can integrate all your data streams in one place.

With electrocardiography, alterations in the activity of the sympathetic nervous system due to emotional and cognitive states can be measured using HRV analysis.


Record the electrical activity of the brain that occurs between pairs of electrodes in contact with the scalp and represents the sum of a large amount of underlying neural activity.


Electromyography (EMG) is the study of muscle electrical activity. Useful in recording reflexes and reaction times through to fine facial movements in response to stimuli.


Eye movements can be recorded using electrodes placed in the skin near the eyes. This includes such as tracking moving objects, fixating on stationary objects while the head moves, or measuring the direction and size of eye movements.

Galvanic Skin Response (GSR)

Galvanic Skin response is of interest in psychophysiology as eccrine glands respond readily to a person’s mental and emotional state and are often more responsive that other variables such as skin temperature.

Heart Rate

Options for both wireless and wired recording of heart rate as a reference to changes in cognitive and emotional states.


Finger arterial pressure is used to determine systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure alongside heart rate and interbeat interval.


Trigger sounds played to participants during the experiment and record responses.


Record dermal skin temperature as a supplementary variable to assess changes in mental and emotional state.


Simultaneously record and synchronize video to observe video and physiological data together.

Reaction times

The average human reaction time is about 150ms to touch, 170ms for auditory stimulus and about 250ms for visual stimuli. However, many factors can affect an individual reaction time to stimulus. Examples that are often tested as variables in psychophysiology experiments include, age, arousal, distraction, gender, practice, errors, fatigue, punishment, drugs, and warnings.
